Pirates End Graham Streak Sunday, August 27th , 2062 Alex Graham came rolling into today's game against the Bristol Pirates with a 20-game hitting string, but he left it on the field at Joe O'Brien Field. The 21-year-old Elizabethton Twins center fielder went 0-for-4 against the Pirates as the Twins fell, 2-0. "I swung at a couple pitches I probably shouldn't have and I didn't swing at a couple I probably should have," he said, grimacing. "But that's what makes a hit streak so impressive in the first place -- it only takes a couple mistakes to end it all." So far on the season, Graham is hitting .301 with 3 home runs, 20 RBIs and 31 runs scored. He has 71 hits and played in 58 games. |
