Vinson Cracks 3 HRs for Erwin Wednesday, July 11th , 2035 Tyler Vinson went on an explosive hitting spree against the Elizabethton Twins at Ballpark of Edmonton today, launching a trio of blasts to lead the Erwin Mountaineers to the 6-0 win. The center fielder finished 3-for-4 with 3 runs scored and 4 RBI. "It was just one of those days," Vinson said in a postgame interview. "I don't know how to explain it. I'm just putting a good swing on the ball." Elizabethton skipper Freddy Reed said Vinson was "locked-in." "We made some pretty good pitches," he said. "Those first two homers were exactly where the pitcher wanted to put them. He's just hot right now -- you've just got to tip your hat to him." Tyler Vinson grounded out in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off José González in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Malcolm Gonzales in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Malcolm Gonzales in the 7th. For the year Vinson has hit .189 with 5 home runs, 11 RBIs and scored 6 runs. |
