Casper First Baseman Nets PIO Award Monday, July 10th , 2051 With some great hand-eye coordination and a sweet, compact swing, Casper Ghosts first baseman Steve Silver took the Pioneer League by storm this past week to take the latest Player of the Week honors. "The ball was looking like a beach ball all week," a happy Silver said to BNN reporters. "When it's that big, it doesn't matter where they throw it -- I can hit it anywhere." The 21-year-old first baseman hit .360 (9-for-25) last week with 4 home runs, 8 RBIs and 8 runs scored. So far this season Silver has hit .327 with 5 home runs, 12 RBIs and scored 12 times. |
