Iniguez Swings for the Cycle Tuesday, August 6th , 2030 In an outing that will go down in the annals of baseball history, Mesa third baseman Fernando Iniguez hit for the cycle today as the Saguaros marched to victory over the Ahwatukee Roughnecks, 7-4. Iniguez collected 4 hits in 5 at-bats, including 1 single, 1 double, 1 triple and 1 home run. He added 2 RBI and 3 runs scored to help Mesa take the Roughnecks Ballpark contest. "It was the last thing on my mind, really," Iniguez said. "I'm out there trying to get a blooper or a walk or whatever might help the team. Even if I had wanted to, hitting for the cycle is probably as much about luck as about skill anyway." Fernando Iniguez doubled in the 2nd, tripled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Troy Bennett in the 7th and flied out in the 9th.
