Schmidt Hits in 20 Straight Games Wednesday, August 14th , 2030 The Phoenix Armadillos fell to the Florence Swordfish in Maryvale Baseball Park today, even as 20-year-old catcher Woodrow Schmidt upped his consecutive-game hitting streak to 20 games. Schmidt finished with 1 hit in 4 at-bats, but could not stop the Armadillos from dropping the 9-3 decision. "Yeah, I kept my streak going, but it would have been better to come away with a win," said Schmidt. Woodrow Schmidt flied out in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 6th and flied out in the 8th. For the season Schmidt is hitting .398, batted in 36 runs with 4 home runs and 36 runs scored. |
