Sierra Vista On Top of Arizona Rookie League South Division Sunday, September 6th , 2048 Fans of the Sierra Vista Hummingbirds have a lot to get excited about, as the club has captured the Arizona Rookie League South Division crown. It's the 11th time in franchise history that the club has finished atop the standings and they now have an opportunity to capture the franchise's 5th Rookie Complex League - U22 championship. Manager Andy Riley said there's "a lot of excitement" in Sierra Vista over the club right now and they hope to live up to expectations. For his part, starting pitcher Jesse Haugen said the division championship is "just a start" for his team. "We want to go all the way, win the R Championship Series," he said. "Winning the division - we could get used to this." |
