Kissimmee Sweeps Surprise Sunday, September 22nd , 2030 It was a hard-fought battle for both teams to make it this far. But as the saying goes, "to the victors go the spoils." For the victorious Kissimmee Kumquats, that meant the Rookie Complex League - U21 Rookie Championship Series trophy. The Kumquats took a 6-0 victory over the Surprise Sidewinders at Bright House Field, winning their 11th championship after taking the series 4-0. "We've got grit," said Kumquats right fielder Amauris Pérez, who was named MVP of the series. "We know how to win when we have to." The new titleholders completed the regular season with a first-place finish in the Florida Rookie League Northwest Division and a 37-33 record. View Boxscore |
