Baez Grabs AZL Reliever of the Year Award Thursday, October 3rd , 2030 He may only be 21, but Alex Baez of the Flagstaff Blue Devils has already established himself as one of the elite relievers in the Arizona Rookie League. The reliever was today named the AZL Reliever of the Year Award winner for 2030. He won the award with a strong year that saw him put up 2 saves in 18 relief appearances and 23 strikeouts in 29 innings. He had a record of 1-0 to go with his 2.17 ERA. He received 36 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Oslendys Barahona of the Gilbert Geckos finished second in voting, while Paul Niday of the Phoenix Armadillos finished third.
