Aqua Sox Spellbound, Hammond Hurls No-Hitter Monday, August 23rd , 2038 In a dominant outing, Luke Hammond of the Daytona Beach Hurricanes totally silenced the bats of the Pompano Beach Aqua Sox, finishing with a no-hitter. In the Hurricanes' 9-0 victory, Hammond faced only 29 batters, surrendered no hits, had 4 strikeouts and 2 walks. "Honestly, I didn't even know the situation was what it was until the seventh inning," Daytona Beach manager Alfredo Degorrio said. "I happened to look up there to see how many hits we had gotten, and I happened to notice that they hadn't gotten any." Commenting on the defeat, losing manager Jarrod Sobers told reporters in the clubhouse that he had a "simple" analysis of the game.
