5 Hits for Mariachis Brocklebank
Wednesday, May 9th, 2007
5 hits in a game is a rare thing, but Mazatlan's Kelyn Brocklebank made it happen today against the Acereros. Everything came together at the plate for the 28-year-old first baseman as he collected 5 hits in 6 at-bats -- and led the Mariachis to a 19-11 win at Mariachis Ballpark.
"I'm just out there to try and help the team win," Brocklebank said after the game, "I had some real good at-bats today. I made good, solid contact and luckily no one caught 'em."
Kelyn Brocklebank singled in the 1st, hit a two-run single in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Baden Yue in the 4th, struck out in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 8th.
So far this season, Brocklebank has recorded a .299 batting average with 20 hits, 2 home runs, 13 RBIs, 10 runs scored and a .405 OBP.
