Alvarenga and Dean Dealt Monday, August 13th, 2007 Several Mariachis and Broncos players soon will have to start shopping for a new home. It was announced today that the two teams came to agreement on a trade. Mazatlan will get 34-year-old 1B Bobby Dean and Reynosa will pick up 33-year-old RHP Juan Alvarenga in return. "I'm not surprised by the news," one of the players told reporters, "It's part of the business and I understand that. I am looking forward to playing for the Mariachis." This season Alvarenga has made 34 relief appearances and has 9 saves. His record is 4-5 with 67 strikeouts in 66 innings with a 4.23 ERA. This year Dean is batting .263 with 69 hits, 19 home runs, 48 RBIs, 27 walks, .346 OBP and has scored 46 runs. |
