Diablos Rojos Trudel Gets No-Hitter
Monday, September 10th, 2007
In a dominant outing, Whip Trudel of the Mexico Diablos Rojos totally silenced the bats of the Carmen Delfines, finishing with a no-hitter.

In the Diablos Rojos' 2-0 victory, Trudel faced only 28 batters, surrendered no hits, had 8 strikeouts and 1 walk.

"Honestly, I didn't even know the situation was what it was until the seventh inning," Mexico manager Talbot Mifflin said. "I happened to look up there to see how many hits we had gotten, and I happened to notice that they hadn't gotten any."

Commenting on the defeat, losing manager Ismael Escalona told reporters in the clubhouse that he had a "pretty simple" analysis of the game.

"The Diablos Rojos had all the hits and all the runs, so they won," he snapped. "But yeah, Trudel pitched a heck of a ballgame."

This year Trudel has worked 122 innings with 107 strikeouts en route to a 6-4 record and 2.51 ERA.
