Acereros Captures Wild Card Friday, September 28th, 2007 For the Monclova Acereros, it's not how you start, but how you finish. That's the mantra the team is following after today qualifying for the playoffs. "We may be going into the playoffs as a wild card team, but we plan to finish the playoffs as champions," said left fielder Sincere Asefa. "There's no shortage of confidence from guys in our clubhouse." With a record of 85-66, there will of course be teams with better track records in the postseason. But team manager Juan Ortega said his club has "infinite optimism" that they can win the franchise's 1st Liga Mexicana de Beisbol championship. |
