Great Month Gets LMB Top Rookie Trophy Monday, October 1st, 2007 Sam Griggs certainly made his presence felt in the Liga Mexicana de Beisbol in September. The gifted 26-year-old for Guadalajara ripped opposing pitchers for a .320 batting average and was the top vote-getter for the Rookie of the Month trophy. He won it by going 31-for-97 in 25 games with 9 home runs, 25 RBIs and 18 runs scored. Looking at his stats this year, Griggs has compiled a .269 batting average, while hitting 23 home runs and driving in 74 runs. He has played in 128 games and scored 72 runs. |
