Industriales-Pericos Trade: Martin for Peavy Wednesday, November 28th, 2007 Both sides appear content with the trade finalized today that will send 26-year-old 3B Jimmy Martin to the Puebla Pericos, while the Havana Industriales will receive 30-year-old LF Sean Peavy. "This is a move that filled a few gaps in our roster," said Joe Unknown, Industriales general manager. For his part, the Pericos GM said the trade was made "in the best interest of our organization's future." BNN analysts reported that on paper the trade seemed to be a plus for both ball clubs. The players involved are expected to join their new teams for the next scheduled game. A check of his lifetime stats shows Martin has played in 204 games with a .271 batting average. Among his 222 hits are 23 home runs. He also has scored 99 runs and driven in 111 runs. |
