Sidewinders Get 2-0 Win Versus Florence
|
In a tight game between the Surprise Sidewinders and the Florence Swordfish, pitcher Victor Landry was terrific on the mound. The Surprise right-hander helped his team to the 2-0 win. Ned Ondras recorded the save, his 1st. The 'W' lifts Surprise's record to 10-8.
Surprise took a 1-0 lead on Iben Sherry's 4th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Sherry hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Florence pitcher Julian Reid visibly frustrated.
Afterward, Sidewinders manager Brandon Holmes was ebullient. "That was a fun game to coach," he told a group of reporters, adding, "I hope it was just as fun to watch."
