Gilbert Gets 3-2 Win Behind Lefty Strausbaugh
|
The Gilbert Geckos picked up a win at Camelback Ranch, dropping the Surprise Sidewinders, 3-2. Jim Strausbaugh, who is tied for 3rd in the AZL in wins with 4, was the difference-maker. Derrick Bennett closed it out for his 1st save. With the win over Surprise, the Geckos improved to 16-22.
Strausbaugh, the winner, is now 4-2, after putting the clamps on the Surprise offense. In 7 innings of work, he gave up no runs on 2 hits, while collecting 7 Ks.
"Every play was important. Every out was important," said Geckos manager Jason Blahut.
