Mesa left fielder Cody Yu was instrumental in helping the Saguaros triumph, 8-3, over the Flagstaff Blue Devils. Yu hit 2 home runs. The Saguaros move to 28-14 with the win, while the Blue Devils drop to 16-26.

The Blue Devils had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Saguaros going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 18-year old third baseman Mason Toma came to the plate. Toma hit a 3-run home run on a 0-1 fastball from Flagstaff hurler Dan Bylow. It was Toma's 3rd home run of the year.

"We didn't get the results that we wanted," said Flagstaff skipper Elvis García.
