Swordfish Better Gnomes, 3-2
|
The Florence Swordfish and Yuma Gnomes played an entertaining game for Goodyear Ballpark patrons.
The Florence Swordfish earned a win at Goodyear Ballpark, stopping the Yuma Gnomes, 3-2. Starting pitcher Dylan Gavara played a big role in his team's success. Dover Murray finished the game for Florence and earned his 1st save.
The Swordfish got a big at-bat from third baseman Cameron Barlow. For the game, Barlow went 1-3 with a home run and a walk. In the bottom of the sixth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 4th home run of the season gave Florence a 3-2 lead.
After the game, Gavara told the Florence Daily News, "Like I've always said, the challenge is what makes this game worth playing."
The Swordfish improved their record to 18-22 with the win over Yuma.
