Sidewinders, Luther Deal Threshers 3-0 Setback
The Surprise Sidewinders got a magnificent performance from pitcher R.J. Luther, who muffled the Clearwater offense en route to a tight 3-0 Sidewinders win at Pirate City Complex. Luke Kercher closed it out for his 7th save. The Sidewinders go to 13-10, putting them third in the Arizona Rookie League North Division.

The standout performance belonged to 18-year-old Luther. With his baby face, he looked more like someone starting for a high school team than for the Sidewinders. His performance, however, was nothing short of top-notch. The youngster dominated the Threshers, striking out 7 and scattering 2 hits over 7.1 innings. Luther is now 3-1 on the season.

"The most important thing is that we won," Luther said.
