Roughnecks Handed 7-4 Loss
|
Behind a solid performance from left fielder Landen Warren, the Buckeye Quahogs defeated the Ahwatukee Roughnecks, 7-4. Warren was 2-5 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4 for the Quahogs. The win was credited to Marvin Gama in relief. His record improves to 3-1. Whitford Firestone took the loss. Derek Phillips collected save number 1.
Warren had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a 1-0 fastball from Pierce Perkins, he banged a 3-run home run to left, giving the Quahogs a 6-4 lead. It was the 10th home run of the year for Warren.
"Anytime you're seeing it well, it's a good feeling," Warren told the Buckeye Bulletin.
Buckeye is 20-29 and Ahwatukee, with the loss, 23-26.
