Roughnecks Edge Blue Devils, 5-4
|
Fans watched the Ahwatukee Roughnecks and the Flagstaff Blue Devils fight to the finish.
Christian Reedy was superb against Flagstaff. The right-hander had a fastball that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a Roughnecks victory. The score was 5-4. Reedy, the winner, moves to 2-0. He threw 6 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 10 and giving up 2 walks. Angel Lizardi closed the door for Ahwatukee, picking up his 1st save of the year.
Early in the game, right fielder Pedro Cintora had a 3-run home run for Ahwatukee. It was his 1st home run of the season and put the Roughnecks on top, 3-0.
"It's always nice to be on the winning side," Cintora told the Ahwatukee Times. "But we take nothing for granted."
Ahwatukee is now 11-14.
