Quahogs Shut Out Pride, 3-0
|
Right-hander Santiago Borrego mesmerized the Peoria Pride while leading the Buckeye Quahogs to a 3-0 victory. With the victory, the Quahogs record stands at 2-54.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Quahogs had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the third, when designated hitter Theo Copp hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Miguel Parra and made the score 2-0, Quahogs. Copp went 2 for 4 with 2 singles.
"It's no secret that good defense follows around people who throw strikes," said Buckeye manager Brendon Brown.
