The Flagstaff Blue Devils defeated the Gilbert Geckos, 3-1, in Arizona Rookie League action at Camelback Ranch. Flagstaff pitcher Aryan Chapman had a standout performance. Chapman got the win, improving to 2-1. He allowed 4 hits and walked 1 over 6 innings. Chapman allowed 1 run. Emiliano Figueroa picked up the save, his 2nd.

Flagstaff used the bat of Brandon Rose to get the win. The center fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Blue Devils ahead, 2-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it did its damage.

"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Rose told a Flagstaff Chronicle reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."

The Blue Devils, at 12-17, sit in 8th place in the Arizona Rookie League North Division.
