Sedona Doubles Up Ahwatukee, 8-4
|
The Sedona Steers grabbed a win, 8-4, over the Ahwatukee Roughnecks at Sloan Park. Sedona third baseman Lewis Carli was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Reliever Jacob Gerhardt picked up the win. His record improves to 1-0. Marc Almazan took the loss. The Steers now have a record of 24-38 with the win over Ahwatukee.
Sedona took control in the bottom of the sixth. With no one out and the bases loaded, Paxton Zeigler hit a 2-run single to make it 5-3, Steers.
In comments to the Sedona Daily, Zeigler admitted he's been told to improve his work habits. "But," he said, "I know when to take it to another gear."
