The Florence Swordfish snuck past the Gilbert Geckos, 1-0, in 10 innings. Florence pitcher Abraham Pérez, in particular, had a standout performance. With the win, the Swordfish improved to 37-28.

The decisive blow was delivered by Matthew Shein in the bottom of the tenth when he hit a solo home run off 19-year old left-handed pitcher Pascal Gómez to win the game for Florence. The home crowd went nuts.

"Winning in the last at-bat, there's nothing else like it," said Pérez.
