The Flagstaff Blue Devils picked up a win at Maryvale Baseball Park, knocking off the Glendale Gauchos, 5-3. Starting pitcher Trinidad Espinoza played a key role in the triumph. Espinoza picked up the win for Flagstaff, going 7 innings. He gave up 3 runs on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 3-5. The Blue Devils saw their record improve to 25-38.
The Blue Devils got a big at-bat from center fielder Zack Carver. For the game, Carver was 1-4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the top of the first, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 7th home run of the season gave Flagstaff a 2-0 lead.
"Trinidad gave us a huge shot in the arm," said Flagstaff manager Elvis García.
