Florence is abuzz in the wake of a masterful no-hitter by Jimmy Nguyen.

The 17-year-old hurler was dominating against the Glendale Gauchos, leading the Swordfish to a 1-0 win at Goodyear Ballpark today.

"I could tell early on that it was going to be a long day for us," Glendale manager Tony Coto said afterward. "He made us look real bad. He was that good. And still going strong at the end of the game."

Nguyen had 7 strikeouts and gave up 5 walks en route to the no-hitter.

"Yeah, this was a special day for me," Nguyen said. "I had my good stuff and good movement. Good location, too. Even when I made a mistake, I got away with it today."

To this point in the season, Nguyen shows a 4-0 record, 6 starts, 35.1 innings, 41 strikeouts and a 2.04 ERA.
