The Yuma Gnomes picked up a win at Camelback Ranch, knocking off the Gilbert Geckos, 6-3. On the mound for Yuma was left-hander Camden Price. He played a key role in the triumph. Price got the win, improving to 1-2. He gave up 5 hits and walked 2 over 6.1 innings. He allowed 2 runs. The 8th-place Gnomes now have a record of 21-43.
Roberto Peralta had a big 3-run home run for the Gnomes in the top of the second inning. With Yuma leading 3-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he sized up a cutter from 20-year old right-handed pitcher Tony Claudel and punished it. The result was his 8th home run of the season, which put the Gnomes on top, 6-0.
"Camden just settled in and did what he does," said Yuma manager Ryan Guardado.
