|
Kyler Trippe, who is tied for 2nd in the AZL in strikeouts with 93, never let the Gnomes get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his slider, to pitch the Ranchers to a win, 4-1. Trippe picked up the win for Chandler, going 5.1 innings. He gave up no runs on 3 hits. He now sports a record of 4-3. Kent Tang got the save, the 1st for him this season.
Chandler used the hitting of Mark West to pick up the win. The right fielder clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Ranchers on top, 3-0. For the game, West had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
Chandler manager Derick Fernandez commended his team for exhibiting "no shortage of effort."
The Ranchers have an impressive 47-19 record.
