Magallanes Helps Impalas Beat Quahogs, 8-1
The 8-1 Tempe win over Buckeye was due in large part to Sandoval Magallanes. The Impalas third baseman went 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and 2 walks, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. Lucas Schott earned the win to go to 1-9. He allowed no runs on 7 hits, with no walks and 5 strikeouts in 5.1 innings of work. The Impalas improved their record to 20-48 by beating Buckeye.

Marte Rosser had a big run-scoring triple for the Impalas in the bottom of the second inning. With Tempe leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a fastball from 18-year old right-handed pitcher Charlie Vanlandingham and swatted a triple to right-center. It was his 3rd triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Impalas ahead, 2-0.
