Ranchers Squeeze Out Win in Pitching Duel
|
The first-place Chandler Ranchers took on the Bullhead City Catfish in front of a spirited crowd.
In a low-scoring clash between Chandler and Bullhead City, pitcher Papa Eastman was a difference-maker. The left-hander earned praise for his performance in the 1-0 Ranchers win. Josh Glick was called on to finish, recording his 4th save.
The Ranchers got a big at-bat from left fielder Rubin Stinson. For the game, Stinson went 1 for 4 with a home run. In the bottom of the first, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 6th home run of the season gave Chandler a 1-0 lead.
"We did just enough to win," Stinson said.
Chandler leads the Arizona Rookie League South Division by 3½ games.
