Raak Delivers Walk-Off Win for Quahogs
|
The Buckeye Quahogs had to overcome a fine performance from Kingman pitcher Jörg Werner to grab a 2-1 win at Surprise Stadium. Werner allowed 1 run over 7.1 innings. The win belongs to Christopher Sloop in relief. His record improves to 2-1. Stan Chamberlain took the loss for Kingman. The winning streak has now reached 4 games for Buckeye.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Buckeye pinch hitter Jay Raak, facing Stan Chamberlain, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Quahogs the 2-1 win.
"We're stringing together some nice wins," said Buckeye manager Condon Murrell.
