Roughnecks Pick Up 5-2 Win
The Ahwatukee Roughnecks downed the Buckeye Quahogs, 5-2. The hitting star was left fielder Randall Garces. Garces went 4-4 with 4 singles and a walk. He scored 3 runs for the Roughnecks. Angel Lizardi, the winning pitcher, improved to 1-1. He pitched 5.2 innings, giving up 2 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 5 and walking 2. The 'W' lifts Ahwatukee's record to 15-25.

The Roughnecks got an important contribution from shortstop Elizardo Alaniz, who in the bottom of the second punched a first pitch curveball into left for a 2-run double. It was his 2nd double of the season and put the Roughnecks ahead, 3-0.

"Scoring runs is scoring runs," said Ahwatukee skipper Matt Hartford. "It's important to have different ways to do it."
