Victory Over Sun Dogs Takes Coral Springs to 25-15
|
Coral Springs catcher Corky Troutner made his presence felt in the 7-4 Manatees triumph over the Miramar Sun Dogs. Troutner was 1-1 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. The winner in relief was Jeremiah Thornton. The right-hander allowed 2 runs on 2 hits in 3 innings. He now owns a record of 3-0. Simon Andrew picked up the save, his 1st.
Troutner had a game-changing home run in the top of the sixth. On a 2-1 fastball from Tyrell Pearce, he banged a 2-run home run to center, giving the Manatees a 5-3 lead. It was the 3rd home run of the year for Troutner.
"We take it day by day here," said Troutner, "and today was a good one for us."
