The Surprise Sidewinders defeated the Buckeye Quahogs, 9-5, at Surprise Stadium today. Leading the charge for Surprise was designated hitter Cliff Ashcraft. He went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Surprise is 4th in the Arizona Rookie League North Division with a record of 24-17.

Mason Townsend contributed a productive at-bat in the top of the eighth. With the bases loaded, he hit a sacrifice fly. His at-bat helped Surprise get the win.

"We'll sip on a cold one and savor this win," said Ashcraft.
