Hollywood registered a win at Roger Dean Stadium by beating the Fort Lauderdale Pirates, 7-3. Pitcher Cody Hall was one reason why the Spoonbills triumphed. Hall, now 1-1, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 6, walking 1, and allowing 2 runs. Neiser Frias earned the save, his 1st.
Joey McCauley helped his team take an early lead with a run-scoring single. It came in the first inning, making the score 1-0, Spoonbills.
"Cody gave us a huge shot in the arm," said Hollywood manager Daryl Dixon.
The loss drops the Fort Lauderdale record to a disappointing 5-7.
