The Oviedo Catch topped the Boca Raton Buccaneers, 4-1, in Florida Rookie League action at Ballpark of Oviedo. The standout performance belonged to Oviedo pitcher and Denison, Texas, native Henry Matthew. In 5 innings, Matthew surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 8 and walking 1. He allowed no runs. The 6th-place Buccaneers have lost 4 consecutive games.

The Buccaneers had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Catch going into the bottom of the third inning. That changed quickly when the 21-year old second baseman Álvaro Jiménez came to the plate.
