Hogs Deal Quahogs 9-7 Defeat
Buckeye got a terrific game from first baseman Cannon Kasperski. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Gainesville, 9-7. Kasperski was 1 for 1 with a home run and 4 walks, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Mike Mears sewed up the save, his 6th. The 8th-place Quahogs have lost 5 consecutive games.

Gainesville used a well-timed hit by Allan Johnson to capture the win. The pinch hitter socked a 2-run double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Hogs ahead, 6-5. Though it was his only hit in 1 at-bat, it was important.

"I'm a bit of a clubhouse prankster," said Johnson. "But it's all business when we're on the field."
