Coverdale, Buccaneers Get 1-0 Win
|
The Boca Raton Buccaneers got great pitching from 18-year old right-handed pitcher Derek Coverdale, allowing them to bump off the Fort Lauderdale Pirates, 1-0. Davis Lewis was credited with the save for Boca Raton, his 4th of the season. With this game in the books, Boca Raton is 6-11, Fort Lauderdale 6-11.
Coverdale's performance can only be described as masterful. He notched 6 strikeouts in 8 innings while allowing 3 hits. Coverdale goes to 3-1 on the year with 26 strikeouts.
"Derek was pounding the zone," said Boca Raton manager Eddie Anguiano.
