Bahler Stars in 10-7 Sun Dogs Win
|
The home crowd had a good time watching the Key Largo Fighting Shrimp and Miramar Sun Dogs get after it.
The Miramar Sun Dogs defeated the Key Largo Fighting Shrimp, 10-7, in part because of third baseman Nehemiah Bahler. Bahler went 3 for 4 with 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice for the Sun Dogs. Miramar reliever Joshua Gibby picked up the win to move to 2-0. Joquel López suffered the loss. Brayan Ingram picked up the save, his 2nd.
The Fighting Shrimp had been locked in a 7-7 tie with the Sun Dogs going into the bottom of the eighth inning. That changed quickly when the 19-year old left fielder Jared Chaisson came to the plate. Chaisson hit a run-scoring double on a first pitch fastball from Key Largo hurler Joquel López. It was Chaisson's 2nd double of the year.
"Winning is contagious," said Chaisson. "We're looking forward to the next game."
At 11-7, Miramar is in 4th place in the Florida Rookie League Southeast Division.
