Gilbert first baseman Zachary Wallace helped his team beat the Mesa Saguaros, 10-8. Wallace went 3 for 3 for the Geckos. Gilbert reliever Jason Love picked up the win to move to 2-2. Lucky Calderoni suffered the loss. Phil Winston recorded the save, his 5th.

Gilbert used a clutch hit from Leonardo Brent to get the win. The pinch hitter drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Geckos ahead, 10-8. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"It was offense that won us the game," said winning manager Jason Blahut.

The win elevated the Geckos to 26-21.
