West Palm Beach Offense Jammed Up by Threshers
|
The Clearwater Threshers got a marvelous performance from pitcher Wayne Kapp. The left-hander kept the West Palm Beach offense from ever getting much traction. The result was an impressive 4-1 Clearwater victory at Pirate City Complex. The win was credited to Abdiel Velez in relief. His record improves to 1-1. Weston Dagel took the loss. Gabriel Essenmacher earned the save for Clearwater, his 6th.
Joe Wilson, who is tied for 6th in the FLA in RBI with 14, chipped in a solo home run for Clearwater in the bottom of the seventh. For the game, the second baseman had 3 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 2 singles, 1 run scored, and 1 RBI.
"Some wins are easy and some are difficult, but either way we come to the ballpark ready to work hard every day," Wilson told the Clearwater Observer.
The Threshers now have a mark of 13-14.
