The Daytona Beach Hurricanes converted a terrific effort from starter Layton Moore into a win over the Oviedo Catch at Osceola County Stadium. The Hurricanes won the game by a final score of 5-1. Berk Quaid got credit for the win, improving to 1-1. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 3.1 innings. The 8th-place Catch now sit at 12-20.

D.J. Mallory cracked a home run off Gregory Dau in the bottom of the seventh. His 2-run blast put the Hurricanes on top, 3-1. In all, Mallory had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.

"I like winning," Mallory told the Daytona Beach Herald. "I may joke around, but when it comes down to it, winning is the most important thing."
