Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Sierra Vista Hummingbirds got the win.

The Sierra Vista Hummingbirds did just enough to sneak past the Sedona Steers, 4-3, at Sloan Park. Sierra Vista center fielder Kirk Chieves, in particular, had a standout performance. Yuriy Stashko got credit for the save for Sierra Vista. It was his 13th of the year.

Sierra Vista used the bat of Logan Latson to get the win. The left fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Hummingbirds ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it did its damage.

"You never take a win for granted in this league," said Chieves.

The 'W' lifts Sierra Vista's record to 24-29.
