The Kissimmee Kumquats defeated the Hialeah Gales, 5-4, at Space Coast Stadium. Kissimmee was led by 19-year old catcher Saul Short, who went 4 for 6 with a triple and 2 doubles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Tony Hilleshiem recorded his 3rd save for Kissimmee. Kissimmee is now 17-21.

Short had a game-changing double in the top of the sixth. On a full count changeup from Johnathan Holt, he banged a 2-run double to center, giving the Kumquats a 5-3 lead. It was the 3rd double of the year for Short.

"It all depends on which version of our team shows up," said Short. "When we put it all together, I think we're a great team."
