Skidding Quahogs Lose 9th Straight
The Pembroke Pines Herons got a stellar effort from pitcher Konnor McCarthy, helping Pembroke Pines score a win over the visiting Buckeye Quahogs, 3-2. Pembroke Pines pitcher Don Quixote Reyes got the win. He's now 3-2. Jonah Connolly was tagged with the loss. Buckeye is in the throes of a 9-game losing streak.

Pembroke Pines won the game in the bottom of the ninth inning. With one out and Jonah Connolly on the mound for Buckeye, pinch hitter Elias Silke hit a dramatic solo home run, bringing Herons fans to their feet.

"The want-to is there for our guys," said Buckeye manager Condon Murrell. "We'll get this thing turned around."
