Flamingos Suffer One-Run Loss at Hialeah
In a low-scoring game between the Hialeah Gales and the Fort Myers Flamingos, pitcher Steven Schmitt was the difference-maker. The Hialeah left-hander was tough as nails in the 3-2 Gales win. Jake Otten, credited with the win in relief, is now 2-3. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1.2 innings. With the win, the Gales improved to 23-25.

Hialeah took a 3-2 lead on Virgil McKimmey's 6th home run of the season. The solo home run, which McKimmey hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Fort Myers pitcher John Hoff visibly frustrated.

"If you ever get this game figured out," said Fort Myers manager Benjamino Parez, "let me know."
