Spoonbills Knock Off Gales, 4-2
|
Hollywood starter Easton Ronan pitched well against the Hialeah Gales at Roger Dean Stadium. The right-hander led his team to a win, 4-2. Ronan yielded 1 run over 7.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 0, and struck out 10. His record improves to 2-2. Yosemi Carrero earned his 14th save, after closing out the game.
Hollywood second baseman Keith Lindon contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With two down, he hit a knuckle curve to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 13th hit of the season and put the Spoonbills ahead, 3-1.
"Easton did what Easton does," said Hollywood manager Gary Tucker.
The Spoonbills go to 28-22, putting them 5th in the Florida Rookie League Southeast Division.
