11-3 Loss Deepens West Palm Beach Funk

The Daytona Beach Hurricanes romped over the West Palm Beach Dolphins, 11-3, at Osceola County Stadium. Jim Burket led the way. He went 3-4 with 3 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for Daytona Beach. Daytona Beach reliever Benjamin Bailey picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Pedro George took the loss. Now 6-43, West Palm Beach has dropped 23 games in a row.
Jon Torres drove in one run for Daytona Beach. The 20-year old third baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Pedro George. It was his 10th RBI of the season.
"I can only hope we've hit rock bottom," lamented losing manager in postgame remarks.
