The Florence Swordfish weathered an outstanding game by Scottsdale center fielder Yuido Sánchez to topple the Salamanders, 8-6. Sánchez was 3-4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. Today's win puts Florence at 33-28, while Scottsdale falls to 26-34.

Had Denny Reiser not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Reiser hit a 2-run single. That made the score 8-6, in favor of the Swordfish.

"It's always extra special to win at home," said Reiser.
